Heating and hot water

Around 60% of all domestic CO2 emissions are from boilers. You could save around £200 per year on fuel bills by having installed a new high efficiency condensing boiler with heating controls.

Conventional boilers convert about 78% of their fuel into heat whereas the best high efficiency condensing boilers convert more than 90%. These new boilers recover as much as possible of the waste heat that normally escapes from the flue.

By using heating controls you can maintain your home at a comfortable temperature, making it warm when you want it but switching off when you don't. Heating controls include a programmer, a room thermostat, a combined programmable room thermostat, a cylinder thermostat and thermostatic radiator valves.

If everyone in the UK with gas central heating installed a high efficiency condensing boiler, we would save enough energy to heat 3.7 million homes for a whole year and save more than 13 million tonnes of CO2.

You should always use a registered, qualified installer. All work on any gas appliances must be carried out by a Council of Registered Gas Installers (CORGI) registered installer.
